Historic preservation ballot question
The Board of County Commissioners approved a resolution allowing a historic preservation mill levy question to appear on November's ballot. The commissioners neither supported, nor opposed the tax question, which will be decided by the voters.

2016 financial report
Independent audit
An independent audit of Garfield County's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) found the accounting for 2016 to be conducted with the highest standards. The Finance Department is routinely recognized for its financial reporting achievement.

2018 HSC grant application
Human Service grants available
Applications for the 2018 Garfield County Human Services Commission grants are now available. Eligible nonprofits must return the completed applications to the County Manager's office by 5 p.m. on July 31.

Garfield County 4-H is holding a dog show, utility goat and alpaca show, a model rocket launch, and a robotics contest this week at the Garfield County Fairgrounds in Rifle. The events are open to the public.
