Elected officials take oath of office

Garfield County re-elected and newly elected officials took their oaths of office January 14 to begin their new terms. Ninth Judicial District Chief Judge John Neiley presided over the oaths, which took place in the Garfield County Courthouse for Ninth Judicial District Attorney Ben Sollars, 9th Judicial District Court Judge Anne Norrdin, and Garfield County Court Judge Angela Roff, and in the Garfield County Administration Building for Garfield County Commissioners Mike Samson and Perry Will. Will takes the seat held by John Martin, who retired after 28 years of service as a commissioner, as well as 24 years of service with Glenwood Police Department. Sollars previously served as Deputy DA under District Attorney Jeff Cheney, who was term-limited for that seat after eight years of service.
